Toppers
Okay, I'm really, really going to try not to make this blog all about wedding stuff. And I have a feeling I'm going to fail miserably. But look at how awesome these wedding cake toppers are!
Big News...
...and old news to most of you. This picture pretty much sums up how I feel nowadays. I am the happiest girl in the world. CURTIS PROPOSED!!! And it was the most amazing day of my life. He sure pulled one over on me. First of all, he surprised me by getting everyone, including my dad who I thought was in Texas, together for a surprise birthday party for me. I thought it was going to be a fun little friend night with Emily and Adam and they dragged me (kicking and screaming) to Uncle Charlies under the ruse that we were going to a friend's anniversary party. I couldn't believe it when I got into the bar and everyone shouted "Happy Birthday!" I dropped a couple of f-bombs in my confusion. Real classy. After awhile Curtis got me to sit down and open all my presents. After I opened them, he got every one's attention, got down on one knee, and pulled out the biggest diamond ring I have ever seen! I was seriously in shock.

Watchmen Friday
Curtis drew me a Dr Manhattan and I drew him a Rorschach. Both our drawings had the "big head, little body" thing going on. Sometimes Post-it drawings are all that keep me going at work. Still haven't seen the movie (I know, I suck).

Mental Organism Designed Only for Killing
It's March! And for some the month is all about MODOK. What's not to love? He flies, his head is huge, and he shoots freaking laser beams out of his head! The people over at March Modok Madness dedicate all of March to drawing and posting all things MODOK. Go over and check out some of the awesomeness. Here are some of my favorites.

The End is Nigh! I need a drink...
Isotope has a whole list of Watchmen inspired drinks here. I'm having me a Comedian later.
The Comedian
Here's a great follow-up to that blue-hued cosmic adventure... a drink of pure nihilism! But be warned, this one is sure to rough you up a bit, just like the drink's namesake, The Comedian.
2 oz Yukon Jack Canadian Whiskey
Dr. Pepper
Fill a tall glass with ice and feel free to go heavy on the Yukon Jack.
Top off with as little Dr. Pepper as you dare.
Garnish with a slice of lemon and a drop of blood in honor of that Watchmen smiley face button you've been bootlegging.

You seen this yet, Bub?
Oh, I am so ready for this. I thank the geek gods that what I love is finally getting some mainstream attention. Between this, the Watchmen, GI Joe and Transformers 2, my summer is going to be packed with nachos, uncomfortable theater seats, and me giggling at every little nerd reference. I watched the final Wolverine trailer and tried to see if I could identify everyone in there. I was excited when I saw familiar faces (or at least powers) but I am a little worried about them cramming in way too many super characters. I was ecstatic to see Gambit in there, but WTF does Cyclops have to do with Wolverine's back story? And if he's in this movie, don't you think Wolverine and Cyclops would have recognized each other in the first X-Men? I know, I know, I'm getting nit picky and don't know the story so I shouldn't complain. It was pretty cool to see Emma Frost power up for that second though.
One person I am excited to see brought to the big screen is Deadpool.
He is one of my favorite non-X-men comic book characters. I don't think they could have cast anyone better than Ryan Reynolds. Deadpool is "the merc with a mouth," infusing ridiculous humor with butt kicking. Nobody does funny cocky badass like Ryan Reynolds. After seeing him in Blade 3, I know he can do it. In the trailers, we only see pretty boy Deadpool and those of you who have read the comics know his face is regularly referred to as hamburger meat.
So, all I gotta say is this guy better not be Deadpool.
The only reason I think that is this...
In the trailer, this guy is is shooting lasers and has claws and such nonsense. That's not what Deadpool does!!! But the more I read on blogs and message boards, it looks like this is a totally different character and the packaging was either a mistake or a red herring.
This is the problem with something you love falling into someone else's hands. The movie is going to be ridiculously cool, I have no doubt of that. I just get worried that it's gonna be another X3. That the action will be awesome but the story will go blah. This definitely turned into more of a hater blog than I meant it to be. But you know I'm still going to be in line for the midnight showing. Who's with me?!

Balloon Art
Come to find out that not only is my cube mate Ryan an amazing writer, he's a great artist too! His desk was decorated with lots of balloons for his 2 year anniversary at our company. After playing balloon volleyball with me for awhile, he decided to draw all over them. They are awesome and they make me smile every time I come to my desk. Taken from my camera phone so the pics don't really do the balloons justice. And please ignore my messy desk.

Moving Part 1
Last Sunday, we officially moved some stuff into my new place. My crew came along and was way beyond helpful, even though most of us were exhausted from the Modest Mouse concert the night before. It was a bit of an adventure moving stuff over the border and my sister Alix was so kind to document the whole thing. I wanna thank my friends and family so much for helping me. I love you guys!
Nothing gets a girl motivated to move like a 711 hot dog.
How I feel today
Via.
I have so much to do today and I am at a loss for where to start and how to get it done. Evs. I'm gonna get a nap in before class and continue to pack, pack, pack. I'm officially moving all my stuff to my new place on Sunday. From that day on, I look forward to days and days of unpacking and arranging with Curtis while Venture Brothers plays in the background. Le Sigh.
