My childhood dreams come true

New Zealand based Weta Workshop created a real life mermaid tail for a woman who lost her legs below the knee due to a childhood medical condition. The tail is fully functional and allows her to swim underwater. How crazy is that! I would have killed for this when I was 6. Full article here.

Project!

Here's my new cruiser. I got it a couple of months ago cause it was super cheap and so perfect. I mean, it's got a stand on it! I'm in love! I'm a little worried about the coaster brakes, since when I coast, I tend to pedal backwards. But hopefully I can harken back to the days of my first Huffy and all will be well. The problem is the color. I am not digging the magenta/fuschiaish color. Fortunately, Curtis' brother-in-law has so graciously offered to let us paint it in his body shop. Problem solved! New problem. What color?! My favorite color is red. Is that played out or classic? Any ideas?

Warm weather, why won't you come?!?

Another reason to go green

Moving on up

This week has been crazy busy and it's just getting crazier. I still have to finish a design for my friends' MS Walk team. Me and Curtis' crew have dance practice tonight for a performance on Sat. I have three books I'm designing at work. And I'm officially allowed to start moving my stuff to Ft. Collins on Sunday. Yay! I am so excited to get this started. I haven't lived without roommates for nearly three years and it's going to be exciting and scary all at the same time. It's going to be nice to have my own place, but I am realizing more and more how much fun I have with my roomies. Having Emily means there is always something going on. I worry that I am just going to end up sitting on the couch watching old House reruns, wondering what she's doing. Then I remember that she will probably be watching the same thing and I can just call her and we can watch it together!
Through cleaning and packing everything, I've come to find that I don't really have that much useful stuff. I'm sure my mom gave my some dishes when I moved out of my parents' place, I just don't seem to know where they are. Maybe under all my old Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles action figures.
I am so excited to finally live in the same city (much less state) as Curtis. Now I'm going to be just a 20 minute bike ride away. No more hour long commutes over boring boring stretches of highway. Now, if he gets sick of me, it's not so far for me to go home. :)
I'm moving to an amazing house, right by the Foothills. It's super cute and I am bound and determined to have it decorated cute. Enter Elaine and Emily. Girls, I'm gonna need your help something fierce! To keep all my loved ones in the loop, I'm gonna post some pictures of the before and after and in betweens of the moving/decorating process. We'll see how this goes.

Super Fun!

The UK Watchmen site as a sweet Minutemen arcade game you can play. These are the video games I can get behind. You kick, you punch, you jump, and you walk...and that's about it. Simple enough to entertain me, I guess. I miss these simpler times so much. Now I can't play Halo without throwing up in my mouth a little. Does anyone remember the first Double Dragon video game? Many a sleepover of my youth was spent A-buttoning some pixelated fools. And I used to play the Simpson's arcade game at Time Out with my sister for hours! Ooo, Ooo, and there was the X-Men one where everyone was in their old school costumes!!! I miss being 10.

Lance's New Bike

Lance Armstrong is participating in the Tour de California right now and on Monday his super amazing, only for him, one of a kind time trial bike was stolen. It was eventually recovered but he had another tt bike made with a little something special added.

I can't wait to get back on my bike!!!
